1990.
The Physical Education and Sports Department of the Faculty of Sciences is established.
1995.
The department becomes the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports by Order of the Ministry of Education no. 4622.
1997.
The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports is accredited. The operation of the Kinetotherapy Department is authorized.
The headquarters of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports is established at 156 Brestei Street (the former headquarters of the "Tudor Vladimirescu" Military High School).
2000.
The Physical Education and Sports Management Department is established.
2003.
The master's program "Sports and Sports Management" is established, with daytime courses lasting 2 years.
2004.
The master's program "Traumatology and Rehabilitation in Sports" is established, with daytime courses lasting 2 years.
The Kinetotherapy Department is accredited.
The IVth Chair - Kinetotherapy is established within the Drobeta - Turnu Severin University Center of the University of Craiova, with the departments "Physical Education and Sports" and "Kinetotherapy and Special Motor Skills."
2005.
The Physical Education and Sports Department is reevaluated.
Master's programs - "Competition and Sports Performance," "Sports and Quality of Life," "Kinetotherapy in Neuromotor Rehabitation," with daytime courses lasting 2 years. All forms of Master's postgraduate studies have curriculae with 120 credits.
Postgraduate course "Therapeutic Massage, Special Massage Techniques, Massage and New Rehabilitation Concepts in Pediatric Pathology," with daytime courses lasting 1 semester (120 hours).
2008.
Master's programs in the Bologna system - "Curricular and Extracurricular Motor Activity," "Performance in Sports," "Kinetotherapy in Neuromotor Reeducation."
The curricula apply the transferable credit system over 2 years/4 semesters x 30 credits (120 credits).
Graduates of bachelor's and master's cycles in the Bologna system who wish to teach must attend courses at the Department for Teacher Training, enrolling at its headquarters in Craiova, 13 A. I. Cuza Street.
2013.
The first postgraduate courses are organized.
2019.
Doctoral studies- in field of Sport Science including Physical Education and Sports amd also Physiotherapy Doctoral Programm.
The programm started with 3 members and now it has 7members, as phd coordinators.
